New features in Drag and Drop.

Right-clicking on a selection of items in drag and drop mode now produces two extra options - Group and Lock.

Group.

In previous versions it was possible to select multiple items in a design as a group and then move, copy or delete that group. However, once you selected another item, or clicked on an empty part of the design, that group of items returned to being a series of individual items.

The group option will permanently keep that set of items as a group.

• to group - select the item(s), right-click on the item(s) and select "Group".
• to un-group - select the group, right-click on the group and select "Ungroup".

Note - it is possible to copy and paste groups between designs.

• open the plan with the group you wish to copy.
• select the group and copy it by pressing "Control" (sometimes "Ctrl") and "C" on the keyboard.
• open the plan you wish to add the group on to.
• press "Control" and "V" to paste the group.

Lock.

This allows you to lock an item in place. It is still possible to select the item, but you will not be able to move it. For example, in a room with a sloped ceiling, you would lock the wedge in place to avoid accidentally moving it when selecting items under it.

• to lock the position - select the item, right-click on it and select "Lock unit(s)".
• to un-lock the position - select the item, right-click on it. Note that "Lock unit(s)" has a tick next to it to indicate this item is locked in place. Click on "Lock units(s)" to un-lock.

Saving and Loading a selection of items.

This allows you to save a group of highlighted items to a file which you can then load up into any another design whilst in drag drop mode. It allows you to for example setup a favourite layout of baseunits and wallunits and save them to a file. You can then load this save group of units within any design without having to recreate them.

• to save a group of units - select all the items, right-click on it and select "Save Selected Group...".

  

• to load a group of units - right click on an empty spot in the plan and select "Load Units", the loaded group will then appear, position where you want them to go with the mouse cursor and click the left mouse button to place them.
